Margiela Blazer

One of my Maison Martin Margiela x H&M buys was this blazer in a dark charcoal/almost black grey shade. Its stiff, and feels like its made out of recycled cardboard and cloth but I love it. Its long enough to wear over a cocktail dress and short enough to be worn with trousers/jeans without making my legs look short.

I wore the blazer for the first time with black trousers, sweater and a thick black scarf (it was a very very cold night). My accessory for the night was this baby blue grey Balenciaga clutch bag that contrasted my all black look.

The Shoulder Look

I love the blazer over the shoulder look, not that I wore it like that when I walked out of my house (its 8 degrees outside). Well tailored blazers add a city-chic look to every wardrobe. They can be worn with shorts and a tshirt during hot summer months, trousers and a sweater in the winter. The Zara blazer I'm wearing in this photo is a minimalistic staple for me. I like the details of this blazer such as the leather collar and inner panel, shoulder pads and pockets. I softened this smart look by wearing my faded Ksubi jeans and folded them till the ankles.

Winter Brew

As much as we hate the chilly winter breezes and the desperation of craving warmth as we step outside our homes, we usually tend to welcome Winter with excitement. Christmas, exchanging presents, ice skating, mulled wine and fur coats are some of our reasons to look forward to the turn of the season.
I'm super late posting this, but I wore this outfit a few weeks ago. Being able to play around with a variety of warm accessories to create different looks is my favourite part about winter. I love wearing hats at this time of the season and usually shop from the Hat Gallery, Portobello Market or Eugenia Kim. With this look I wore a Russian style cossak hat by Carine Wester. The basic black accessory meshes with any outfit. I matched it with other black accessories such as the Topshop gilet and Chanel bag.

I've been taking juice retreats every other day for the past two weeks since I began the 'healthy regime'. This week I would up at an old favourite; Joe & the Juice three times! Try the Pick Me Up (rasberry, apple and banana) yum.

Goodbye Nicholas Ghesquiere

Nicholas Ghesquiere's departure at Balenciaga was announced last week. Along with many other critics, journalists, stylists, bloggers, friends & colleagues of his, I too was very disheartened and surprised. Surprised because Ghesquiere had produced phenomenal collections consecutively in the last fifteen years. I would just like to wish his successor good luck! ;)

Chanel: I can't get over how adorable this lego inspired clutch is. It comes in black, white, red, yellow and blue.

Emilio Pucci: Seems like everyone's favourite colour this season was popular enough to make it into SS13. The delicate golden chain adds beauty to this luxe chic cobalt blue shoulder bag

 Burak Uyan: Mr Uyan gives us the classic version of his rustic shoulder purse from SS11. We can see the genius shoe designer also has a knack for making stunning bags.

 Lanvin: We were all surprised at the Lanvin show a few weeks back at Fashion Week when models pranced down the runway with these perfume bottle clutch bags. I see it being popular and a cute accessory to carry at an evening event.

 

 

Bulgari: Stainless steel and mirrored clutch box, need I say more? 

 

Calvin Klien: The design team at Calvin Klien also deserved an A-star for their take on accessories apart from their admirable minimalistic apparel collection of straight cuts and pearly shades. White reigns the colour trend for SS13 and this shoulder bag seems like the ideal white handbag for the season. 

 

 Z Spoke by Zac Posen: I've always been a fan of Zac Posen's breath taking dresses but never found his accessories very appealing. I like this classic black tote for SS13. Its a key piece as it makes a great day to night bag which can be taken to work and then dinner/drinks.
